About the Department

A Polytechnic Diploma in Mechanical (Production) Engineering is a specialized 3-year technical program designed to provide students with in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, production technology, machine design, industrial engineering, and quality control. The program focuses on developing skills in machining, CAD/CAM, CNC operations, automation, and lean manufacturing. Through a mix of classroom teaching, practical lab sessions, workshops, and industrial exposure, students are trained to meet the demands of modern manufacturing industries. Graduates are well-prepared for roles in automotive, aerospace, tool and die making, fabrication, and process industries. Common job roles include production supervisor, quality inspector, CNC programmer, maintenance technician, and junior design engineer. The diploma also provides opportunities for further studies through lateral entry into B.Tech or BE programs. This course is ideal for students passionate about innovation, machines, and industrial productivity, with a strong foundation in technical skills and ethical practices.
